We read every message. A reply is most likely when the message is specific, see the checklist below for what to include. Please note that we cannot answer requests for personalised financial, tax or investment recommendations.

What to include

A calculation looks wrong: the exact inputs you entered, the result you got, and the result you expected. Without the inputs we cannot reproduce it.
A figure looks out of date: the page URL and, if you have it, the official source that contradicts it.
A broken page or tool: the page URL, your browser and device, and what happened instead of the expected result.
A tool request: the calculation you need and the question it should answer.

What we do with your message

Your message is used only to answer the question you asked. We do not add correspondents to any mailing list, and we do not share messages with third parties. See the privacy policy for how data on this site is handled. Nothing you type into a calculator is transmitted to us, all calculations run in your own browser.

Before you write

Most questions about how a result was produced are answered on the tool page itself: every calculator shows the formula it uses, and pages that depend on external data name the source and the date it was last verified. The about page explains where our data comes from and how the calculators are checked.
